‘Dry Eye’ Awareness

25th June 2010

‘Dry Eye’, also known as Keratoconjunctivitis Sicca (KCS) is a condition seen in dogs that causes a reduction in tear production. This in turn causes sore, dry eyes and if untreated can lead to blindness. Certain breeds are more susceptible than others - these include West Highland White Terriers (Westies), Cocker Spaniels, Cavalier King Charles Spaniels and Shih Tzus. We are inviting the owners of these breeds to bring their pet along for a FREE tear production measurement. The condition can be easily treatable if caught early. Tear measurement is a quick test that is performed by our Veterinary Nurses. If you are interested please phone and make an appointment at either our Forres or Nairn branches.
