Great River Ness Raft Race

29th August 2011

The Raft Race last Saturday proved to be great fun. The awful weather that was forecast for saturday thankfully stayed away.
After an early start, Marselli’s bacon sandwiches and a fair bit of time in make up the MCVG team arrived at Bught Park.
Our theme was ‘Rock Stars’. The 4 person raft crew consisted of the members of the rock band ‘Kiss’ (also known as vets Andy, Jamie and Becky and vet nurse Natalie) plus support acts Elvis Presley, Freddie Mercury, Elton John, the ladies from ABBA and Barney the dog.
The 8 teams with the best decoration and fancy dress got to parade through Inverness city centre and MCVG was one of them!
As for the Raft Race - due to some issues with the tannoy we’re not exactly sure where MCVG came. We can safely say it wasn’t first!
It was a great day. Money was raised for Childrens 1st, a childcare charity.
As promised (and due to insufficient bribes) photos of the day can be seen below. Those of a delicate nature may want to look away…
